For practicing chiropractors

Hosting a student: the one-page sheet.

What hosting a pre-chiropractic or chiropractic student involves, what the host-doctor standard asks of you, and how to be listed in the register. Every figure carries its source and the date it was checked.

What hosting involves

A pre-chiropractic or chiropractic student spends a defined period in your practice, against a written plan: the hours, what is expected, what the student will actually do, and what they will leave with. You talk with them about who they are becoming, not only what they are learning, and you represent the profession honestly, including what it does not do.

Hosting itself is free, and a host never sells the student anything.

What the standard asks

  • 6 competencies: structured hosting, formation-aware mentoring, noticing and responding, boundaries and safeguarding, honest representation of the profession, and documentation.Source: ChiroTrack Host Doctor Certification, The Standard v1.0, effective August 2026 (thechirotrack.com/host-doctor-certification-standard.html); checked October 1, 2026.
  • 3 things each candidate completes to certify: a written hosting plan, a recorded response to a student scenario, and a signed conduct attestation. Attendance alone does not certify.Source: ChiroTrack Host Doctor Certification, The Standard v1.0, effective August 2026 (thechirotrack.com/host-doctor-certification-standard.html); checked October 1, 2026.

The conduct standard, in short

  • Students are never sold anything by their host: no products, no programs, no recruitment.
  • Patient consent before any student observes, every time, with the patient free to decline.
  • For a student under 18: no unsupervised one-to-one contact, parental consent on file first, and all communication through channels the program can see.
  • Concerns about a student's wellbeing go to a named person at ChiroTrack, promptly.

What it is not

Not continuing education credit. No CE hours, no state board credit, no accreditation, and no certification of clinical skill.

How to join the register

The register is the record of chiropractors who make room for students. Being listed means a student can see you exist; it is not an agreement to host, meet or reply to anyone.

  • 4 details and 1 question. Your entry is drafted and sent back to you, and nothing is published until you have read it and said yes. Nothing is charged to be listed.Source: ChiroTrack, Join the Register (thechirotrack.com/join-the-register.html); checked October 1, 2026.
