What it certifies, how it is assessed, and — first — what it explicitly is not.
About that date
August 2026 is the version date of this standard, not an enrollment deadline. Certification runs in small cohorts rather than continuously, so if you are reading this after August you have not missed anything — there is simply a next one. Email to ask when it opens and whether there is room.
§1 — Scope
What this is
A certification that qualifies a licensed chiropractor to host and mentor pre-chiropractic and chiropractic students through a structured program, and to be listed in the matching network that connects students to hosts.
What this is not
This is not continuing education credit. It carries no CE hours, no state board credit, and no accreditation.
It does not certify clinical competence, technique proficiency, or teaching qualification of any kind — you were already a chiropractor before you took it, and this does not change that.
Hosting itself is free. This is the training and certification that qualifies you to do it.
Why the boundary is stated this plainly: a credential that overstates itself is worth less than one that doesn't exist. Everything below is defensible precisely because this section is honest.
§2 — The standard
Six competencies. Each is observable, and each is something a person could fail to demonstrate.

Can run a student observation or apprenticeship period against a written plan — hours, expectations, what the student will actually do, what they'll leave with.

Can talk with a student about who they're becoming, not only what they're learning. Recognises the difference between someone struggling academically and someone who has lost the thread.

Can identify when a student has gone quiet or is drifting, and respond with something specific and true rather than generic encouragement.

Knows the conduct standard, including the requirements when a student is a minor, and knows exactly when and how to route a concern to a human rather than handle it alone.

Represents chiropractic accurately — including its limits — to someone deciding whether to enter it. Does not recruit, does not oversell, does not sell the student anything.

Records hosting activity in the form the network requires, so that a student's experience is verifiable and their hours are real.
§3 — Assessment
Attendance alone does not certify. Each candidate completes three things.

For their own practice — what a student would do there across a defined period, what they'd observe, what they'd produce. Reviewed against competency 1.

A short response to a real student scenario provided in the training, assessed for specificity and for the noticing described in competency 3.

Signed acknowledgement of the conduct standard below, including the minor-participant requirements.
Each submission is reviewed by a named reviewer, recorded on the credential. Candidates whose submissions don't meet the standard receive specific feedback and one revision.
Some will not certify on first submission, and that fact is what makes the credential mean something.
§4 — The credential
Checking someone's standing
Anyone — a student, a parent, a school, another chiropractor — can check a name against the public register and see standing, cohort, and expiry. The register opens with the founding cohort in September 2026.
The register is authoritative. A certificate says what was true on the day it was issued. The register says what is true today, and where the two disagree, the register wins. A credential nobody can check is a claim, not a credential.
§5 — Conduct
Signed by every host, published here, and enforceable by removal from the register.
Standing is earned, never bought.
Payment enrols you in the training. It does not certify you, and no amount of money moves anyone's position in the register.
§6 — Renewal
Renewal requires, in the prior year: hosting activity actually recorded, the conduct attestation re-signed, and one contribution to the standard itself — feedback, a case, or a revision suggestion.
A host who hasn't hosted moves to inactive rather than certified. Inactive is not a punishment and stays fully part of the ecosystem.
Founding cohort only
The renewal clock starts at a host's first student match or at twelve months, whichever is later. Nobody is moved to inactive because of a delay that is ours.
§7 — Language
The line a certified host can say to anyone
"I'm a certified ChiroTrack Host Doctor — I mentor future chiropractors through their training, and I take on apprentices in my practice."
For a practice bio
"Certified Host Doctor, ChiroTrack (Founding Cohort, 2026) — mentoring pre-chiropractic and chiropractic students through structured observation and apprenticeship."
Also excluded: any claim about student outcomes, and any claim that this certifies clinical or teaching competence.
The honest answer, which is also the persuasive one: "No. It's not CE and I won't call it that. It's a certification to host and mentor students, with a published standard and a public register. We're pursuing PACE approval separately for a continuing-education tier, and I'll say so when it exists — not before."
§8 — Design
Four reasons, in the order a sceptic will test them.

Every element is defensible because nothing is overstated. The scope statement disarms the obvious attack before it's made.

A credential with an assessment somebody doesn't pass is a credential. One that everybody who pays receives is a receipt.

The register makes it checkable without asking us.

A host with an apprentice in their office has evidence no paper can manufacture.
