Recognition program
Students and alumni are recognized for what they give, by name, outside the transcript, and never put in order.
Who it's for
You run career services at a DC college and want students recognized for effort and contribution (C5). Or you run the alumni office and want alumni to teach and gather under your banner (L3).
The goal it serves
Our goals for each item, in our own words. C5: Students are recognized for effort and contribution, outside the transcript, chaired by your office. L3: Alumni teach and gather under your banner, with real compensation or recognition.
What you receive
- C5: a program design with named recognitions for hosting, presenting, club leadership, and community work; the criteria; recognition pieces made by Studio; a guide for the panel your office chairs; and facilitation of the first cycle.
- L3: a CE session format alumni can teach, special-interest meetups, a calendar, the compensation or recognition scheme, and facilitation of the first cycle.
What you give us
- C5: the activities you already see and want to name, and a panel of three with no financial stake.
- L3: your CE rules, a budget line or recognition budget, and a calendar.

What we won't do
- Put anything on a transcript, count it toward a degree, or describe it as academic standing.
- Put people in order, keep a public tally, or set one recognition above another.
- Chair the panel. Your office does.
