Transfer-path worksheet

A student plans three institutions' worth of steps from one worksheet, not from three websites.

Who it's for

You advise transfer students at a community college, and some of them want to become chiropractors. Their path runs from your college to a four-year college or university, then to a DC program. U8 puts that path on one page per route.

The goal it serves

Our goals for each item, in our own words. U8: A community-college student can plan the whole path, from community college to a four-year degree to a DC program, on one worksheet.

What you receive

  • A worksheet with one page per route. Each page sets the DC college's requirements beside your courses and the four-year institution's published transfer equivalencies.
  • Every requirement in the publishing institution's own words, with its source numbered in the footer.
  • Where a published page leaves a step unanswered, a row says so and names who to ask.
  • A one-page note for your advisers on how to use it with a student.
  • PDF plus an editable copy, so your advisers can update course numbers when your catalog changes.

How it works

  1. You name the four-year institution and the DC program the path aims at. We read their published pages and record which ones.
  2. We quote each requirement word for word and match it to your catalog and the four-year institution's transfer guide.
  3. Your named adviser checks the course matches. We revise.
  4. You receive the final files. You decide where they go.

What you give us

  • Your catalog.
  • The four-year institution's published transfer guide or equivalencies.
  • A named adviser who checks the course matches.

What we won't do

  • Paraphrase a requirement, or turn "recommended" into "required".
  • Say a course transfers, or that a route guarantees anything, unless the published source says so. Where it doesn't, the row says to confirm with the institution.
  • Print a GPA figure a published page doesn't state.
  • Compare DC colleges, or say how many applicants get in.
  • Ask for any student's record. This is tier one: published pages and your office's own inputs only.
