Other names. National University of Health Sciences was formerly named National College of Chiropractic and National School of Chiropractic. The Council on Chiropractic Education lists it as National University. It goes by NUHS. All of these names refer to the same accredited program. Sources: nuhs.edu history timeline, checked October 20, 2026; nuhs.edu history timeline, checked October 20, 2026; CCE directory, checked October 12, 2026; nuhs.edu, checked October 20, 2026.
In its own words. NUHS describes its program as “an evidence-based, broad-scope curriculum emphasizing integrative medicine” (National University of Health Sciences’s own page, checked October 20, 2026). That is the program’s description, not ours.

National University of Health Sciences tuition and cost
National University of Health Sciences’s published tuition, in its own words and unit: $15,663 first-trimester tuition (23 credit hours); $681 per credit hour, across 248 credits and 10 trimesters (academic year: 2026–2027). That figure is tuition as the program labels it. Fees, books, equipment, housing and living costs are separate unless the program says otherwise, and the program’s own cost-of-attendance page is where it publishes them. To see every program’s figure in its own unit, side by side, read what chiropractic school costs.
Federal debt and earnings. The U.S. Department of Education does not report a median debt or earnings figure for this program; it suppresses figures for small cohorts to protect privacy. That is not a judgment about the program.

National University of Health Sciences prerequisites and admissions
NUHS requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum GPA of 3.00; with 2.75 to 2.99 you may be admitted under its Alternative Admissions Track Plan. You need 24 credit hours of life and physical science, with lecture and lab in biology, physics, general chemistry and organic chemistry, each passed with a C or better. National University of Health Sciences’s requirements page, checked October 20, 2026.
You apply directly, through NUHS’s own portal, followed by references, essays and an informal interview; its pages do not mention ChiroCAS. (National University of Health Sciences application page, checked October 20, 2026) You can apply to enter in the September, January or May trimester. (National University of Health Sciences start terms, checked October 20, 2026)
Prerequisites differ from program to program, and some print amounts in units that differ from the next program’s. The prerequisites guide links every program’s own list.
Licensure in Illinois
Illinois does not have a standalone chiropractic board. Chiropractors are licensed as chiropractic physicians by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, under the Medical Practice Act. You must list every National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and state-constructed examination you have taken, with all attempts, and everyone applying for an initial license must submit to a criminal background check with fingerprint processing through the Illinois State Police.
This paragraph is taken from our chiropractic schools in Illinois page, where the board’s requirements are quoted in full. Board: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, checked September 22, 2026. You can be licensed in a different state from the one you study in; the board where you intend to practice is the only authority on what it requires.
Chiropractors and students from National University of Health Sciences on the ChiroTrack podcast
No recording is listed here yet. ChiroTrack’s interview series ran from 2020 to 2024, and a guest is named on a page about their school only after they have said yes to it. That consent round has not gone out yet, so this list is empty for every program, not only this one.
If you trained at National University of Health Sciences and practice now, you can join the register of chiropractors who make room for students.
