Somewhat. Entering the DC program at 90 hours instead of a completed bachelor's saves up to a year — where schools and your target state's licensing board allow it. Year-round calendars are already the compression. The University of Pittsburgh runs an eight-term program of about two and two-thirds years, and it is still seeking CCE accreditation. Pitt says it expects a CCE decision at the Council’s July 2027 meeting; CCE’s own published timeline for the program lists a self-study report in fall 2026, a comprehensive site visit in spring 2027, and the status review meeting in July 2027. Until CCE acts, the program does not hold accredited status, so check where it stands before you plan around it. What you shouldn't shorten is the front of the path: across 336 recordings identified, the students who struggled most weren't behind on credits — they were behind on clarity. Shadowing, real conversations with practicing DCs, and knowing your why cost you months early and save you years later.
