Let me give you an understanding of who this page is for. You're in a health-adjacent major — or circling one — because something in you wants to work with people and their wellbeing. And somewhere between the prereq grind and the career-fair booths, a quiet question showed up: is the path I'm on actually mine, or just the one I could see from where I was standing?
That question is not a crisis. It's good instincts. Across ~333 interviews with people in the chiropractic profession, we heard version after version of the same story: "I was pre-med… I was in nursing… I was studying kinesiology… and then I found out this profession existed." Most of them found out late, by accident. You get to find out early, on purpose.
The map most advisors don't have on the wall
Holistic and hands-on healthcare is a whole spectrum, and most of it never comes up in a standard advising meeting. On one end: certifications you can earn in months — massage therapy, personal training, yoga teaching, health and life coaching — real careers that reward people skills and entrepreneurship. On the other end: doctoral-level professions like chiropractic and graduate paths like acupuncture, where the science you're already taking becomes the foundation of a licensed clinical career.
Your current major is not a wrong turn on that map. Nursing teaches you patient presence. Social work teaches you to see the whole person and the systems around them. PT and kinesiology teach you the moving body. Biology teaches you the mechanism underneath all of it. Every one of those transfers — the question is only which room you want to use them in.

The Chiropractic Path
If one profession on the map keeps pulling at you — here's the whole road.
If chiropractic is the one that keeps tugging
Then you're closer than you think. The prerequisites overlap heavily with what pre-health majors already take, and here's exactly what's required. There are 19 accredited programs in the US and more worldwide — the full index is here. And the single most valuable thing you can do this semester costs nothing: spend real hours inside a practice and see if the work fits you.
FAQ
Can I switch to a chiropractic path from nursing, PT, or social work?
Yes — DC programs admit based on coursework, not your major. Health-adjacent majors typically already carry much of the science core.
Will exploring other paths put me behind in my current major?
No — exploration runs alongside your coursework, not instead of it. The free intro course is self-paced and built for busy semesters.
Is this going to try to sell me something?
The intro courses are free, full stop. If chiropractic turns out to be your path, the ChiroTrack program is here — and if it doesn't, the clarity was still yours to keep.
