A Doctor of Chiropractic is a licensed portal-of-entry provider — meaning people can come to you first, without a referral. You examine, you assess, you take responsibility for the whole clinical picture, and you deliver care with your hands at a depth your current scope doesn't permit. The philosophy will feel like home: chiropractic's center is the body's innate capacity to heal and the nervous system that runs it — the same premise your work already rests on, taken to its clinical conclusion. And because most chiropractors own their practices, the independence you've built as a practitioner doesn't get surrendered to an employer; it gets a bigger room.

The honest cost of the jump

We don't do brochure talk, so here it is straight: the DC is a 3.3–4 year, year-round doctoral program, science-heavy from day one, and it sits on top of undergraduate prerequisites — roughly 90 semester hours with a science core. Where you stand depends on your transcript: some of you have a bachelor's already (read the post-bacc route — some schools accept a bachelor's and a solid GPA today), some of you have scattered credits, and some of you are starting the college math from scratch. Every one of those positions has a real path. None of them is fast. All of them are knowable — and knowing beats wondering.

Not as academic credit — admission runs on college coursework. But it counts enormously in practice: palpation skill, client trust, and business experience are advantages most students don't have.
