The honest picture

Chiropractic is a doctoral-level, licensed healthcare profession — and it does not yet look like the communities it could serve best. Across approximately 336 recorded interviews with this profession, doctors of color told us two things in the same breath: this career gave them ownership, impact, and a way to serve their community directly — and they wished someone had told them it existed sooner. Most of them found it by accident. This page exists so you don't have to.

Health disparities in Black and Latino communities are not news to your organizations — your chapters run the health fairs, the wellness drives, the awareness campaigns. Chiropractic adds something specific to that fight: accessible, hands-on, whole-person care, often delivered by doctors who own their own practices and decide for themselves which communities they set up in and who gets served.

Why your chapter experience translates

Think about what your letters have already trained you in. Leading a chapter is running an organization — programming, budgets, recruitment, accountability. Community service hours are patient-facing hours in disguise: showing up for people, listening, following through. You don't need to be a science major, and you don't need to have it figured out.
